Turning Tragedy into Triumph-A Stirring Call to Action to Empower Girls-Title -Never Again, Not to Any Woman or Girl Again
If someone reads my book Never again with an open and objective mind, you will find that I tried very hard to share the pain but also to make the peace. Once you say something in your heart, never hate that person because they wronged you. Make every attempt to make peace with them. My book is meant to facilitate truth, reconciliation and peace at family level as well as at every level. Before I make peace I say the truth and that way I clean my heart. My book helps many with issues to find a way to offload them. Writing helps me to heal. -Betty Makoni.

In her provocative new book, Never Again: Not to any Woman or Girl Again (published by Trafford Publishing), Betty Makoni shares a new vision of what must be done to end violence against women and girls in the home, school, community and beyond.
Makoni was only 6 years old when her life tragically fell apart after she was brutally raped. At age 9, her mother died as a result of domestic violence, forcing the young girl to take on the role of mother instead of daughter.
As a young girl, Makoni was not fully aware that there were millions of other women and girls going through similar situations. Once she realized the staggering number of other women and girls suffering from abuse, she told herself one day she would break silence and inspire millions across the globe to do the same. She took a self-empowerment journey to be an activist, an empowered, teacher, wife, mother and a global champion for girls. She refused to be or remain a victim or defined by what she suffered no matter how awful.
After graduating from university, Makoni went to teach in a school in the same neighborhood that made her a victim of patriarchy. She later realized that the situation had not changed. Rather than stand by and cry over it, she took action and worked to stop the menace. Her story shows survival, triumph and empowerment of an African girl and emerging victorious against incredible odds.
Today, she is a global leader of an activist development organization called Girl Child Network Worldwide, which grew from 10 female students from her class to millions of girls worldwide, making it one of the largest global movements for girls ever coming from a school project in a poor village in Africa. Makoni moved from her small village to the global village and, with the help of this book, is making sure the whole world joins her effort. Never again, not to any woman or girl, is the new story. And that is the story that women and girls and everyone needs to hear, that they can rise above any circumstance of oppression or abuse-that they can triumph.
A survivor of rape at age six as well as orphaned at age nine, Betty fought for her education and to date she has fought for girls in similar circumstances all round the world. She has consistently used her voice to remind policy makers and leaders to change policies, attitudes and laws that are detrimental to the growth and development of the girl child
The book has recommendations, testimonials and also it is a donation to her charity work and all proceeds from book go to Muzvare Betty Makoni`s charity to support the work to empower and educate girls.
