Innovative sustainable Fundraising-More to come
Today 15 July, Muzvare Betty Makoni attended a business network event in Basildon, UK . She works for Girl Child Network Worldwide, an international charity helping girls in Africa and she has a strong feeling that being based in UK offers her the best opportunity to think long term fundraising projects. When she worked in Africa, she used to submit project proposals to donors and most of the times she got funding-submitting a project proposal was so easy and it kept me thinking funding was so easy to get. As she gets into mainstream fundraising in UK she has learnt that receiving a fish is short term but getting someone to transform her potential into sustainable fundraising is like getting a fishing rod. It takes time to build fundraising base but she determined to take the long and winding route.
She wants to set up charity shops and Girls Empowerment shops as first steps to creating a girls empowerment and education fund where the charity`s skills and products generate the so much needed funding. So far Muzvare Betty Makoni`s autobiography has proved this can be done and so she is so determined to inspire millions across the globe in exchange of their financial support.
